Navigating Cottage Companion’s Web App

Welcome to the Cottage Companion web app! We're here to help you simplify and streamline your property maintenance experience.

  1. When you log on to the web app, you'll see the main menu. If there is an arrow, it means there are additional menu items below, such as Work Orders. Simply click on the arrow to access these menu items.

  2. The bell icon gives you access to all notifications for your property. If you'd like to customize your notification settings, you can do so under User Preferences.

  3. Need to find something specific? You can easily search Cottage Companion using the search field. Enter your search query and hit enter.

  4. To create a new work order, click on the "Create New Work Order" button.

  5. You'll notice a series of icons that represent the various stages of your existing work orders. Click on any of these icons to access a detailed view of the work order's progress.

  6. The web app provides you with a list of all your work orders. To organize them, you can sort them by clicking on the small arrows in the heading. This way, you'll have a clear overview of all your maintenance tasks.

  7. To create a new work order from the list view, simply click on the plus sign. It's as easy as that!

  8. If you want to customize how the existing work orders are displayed, click on the three lines icon. From there, you can choose to view your work orders as a list, calendar, timeline, or kanban. You also have the option to print or export your work orders for your convenience.

  1. When you log on to the mobile app, you'll see the Summary View.

  2. On the top left-hand corner of this page, you'll spot three horizontal lines next to "Summary View". Click on these lines to see the Menu Options.

  3. The bell icon found in the top right corner of the Menu Options screen gives you access to all notifications for your property. If you'd like to customize your notification settings, you can do so under User Preferences.

  4. From the Summary View, if you need to find something specific, you can easily search Cottage Companion using the search field. Enter your search query and hit enter.

  5. To create a new work order, click on the "Create New Work Order" button. There are a number of other ways you can add new orders to the app. Refer to the section “Managing Work Orders” in this How-To Guide.

  6. From the Summary View, you'll notice a series of icons that represent the various stages of your existing work orders. Click on any of these icons to access a detailed view of the work order's progress.

  7. The Menu Options also includes access to Work Orders, Work Orders History, a view of your Requested Calendar, and a view of the Scheduled Calendar (scheduled by your Property Maintenance Company). It also includes My Properties, in the event you have multiple properties that are on the app. Company Locations will give details about your Property Maintenance Company. User Preferences and Help & Support are also found in the Menu Options.

  8. From both the Work Orders menu option as well as the Work Orders History, you’re able to click on three different icons located at the bottom of the screen.

    1. The magnifying glass allows you to search work orders, based on a specific field. For example, if you select “Description”, as the field, you can select from multiple options, for example, contains, starts with, ends with, etc. You can use the Value field to enter what you’re searching for.

    2. The second icon and third icons enable you to change how information is sorted by each field, for example, by ascending or descending order.
